It has been a rough couple of days for Angel Reese. She became the first player in Unrivaled history to get ejected just one day after she was mocked by Sabrina Ionescu for an awkward hot mic moment.

As could be expected, the rising WNBA superstar immediately complained about her treatment on social media.

The drama started on Friday when Reese and Rose BC lost to Ionescu and Phantom BC by 12 points, 75-63. Rose head coach Nola Henry was mic’d up throughout the game and her players could often be heard through that microphone— especially during timeouts.

At one point, Reese could be heard talking about Ionescu.

They can’t stop it. Sabrina can’t f—— guard.

Not only did the Phantom go on to win, its best player dropped 32 points.

Reese finished with only 13 points in the loss and went extremely viral on social media for her hot mic moment.

Ionescu appeared to respond to the comments with just one word on Saturday.

Not long thereafter, Rose BC was back on the court against Laces BC on Saturday afternoon.

Angel Reese was ejected.

The 22-year-old forward became the first player in Unrivaled history to get tossed. She picked up a pair of technical fouls on the same possession during the second quarter for arguing with officials. Whatever Angel Reese said did not go over well.

Coach Hayes did not understand the ejection. Nor did her players.

Everything happened pretty quickly. The players are super competitive, and at times that competitveness makes them become a little bit emotional. While I understood her frustration completely, she’ll grow from that in terms of keeping her composure […]

My conversation was just, I wanted clarity around what she said just so I could have a conversation with her after the game about it. Still a super young player, so she’s growing and learning […]

I think there was a little bit of confusion just in that whole interaction all together. Just wanted clarity around what was said, and it wasn’t much.

Reese also disagreed with the decision and voiced her frustrations with a series of posts on X.

The ejection is something she wears as a badge of honor.

Angel Reese is already over Unrivaled and can’t wait to get back to the WNBA.

She kept her thoughts to a minimum to avoid any kind of reprimand.

Needless to say, Angel Reese was not thrilled with how the whole thing went down. It was a rather awkward 48 hours for one of the biggest names in women’s basketball!
