Indiana Senator Jim Banks is calling out Angel Reese. Two weeks ago, the WNBA launched an investigation after receiving complaints about “racist fan behavior” directed at Reese during the Sky’s game against the Fever.
At the time, Reese applauded the WNBA’s actions.
“Obviously, there’s no place in this league for that,” said Reese. “I think the WNBA, our team and our organization has done a great job supporting me. I’ve had communication with everyone, from so many people across the league being able to support me. Going through this process, obviously if it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. I think they’ve done a great job supporting us in this.”
The WNBA would later reveal that they could not find any evidence of “racist fan behavior’ by Fever fans directed at Reese.
“We have investigated the report of racist fan behavior in the vicinity of the court during the May,16 2025 Chicago Sky at Indiana Fever game.”
“Based on information gathered to date, including for relevant fans, team, and arena staff, as well as audio and video review of the game, we have not substantiated it.”
Banks appeared on Dan Dakich’s show and said he believes that Reese owes the state of Indiana and their fans an apology after the WNBA concluded their investigation.
“The least she could to do is apologize to our great state… obviously she’s not going to do that…those are awful accusations and they weren’t true.”
