NASCAR driver Austin Dillon was a true wingman on Sunday. Before the race at at Phoenix Raceway, he did his best to try and hook his fellow driver William Byron up with actress Sydney Sweeney.
Sweeney, who was at the final race of the 2025 NASCAR Cup season to promote her new film Christy, drew huge crowds at the event. She met several drivers and took pictures with a few of them, including Ryan Blaney.
William Byron, who just happens to be single, initially wasn’t one of the drivers to get his picture with the popular actress. However, as he was exiting the media center where Sydney Sweeney was being mobbed by fans, Austin Dillon grabbed him and made him go back and shake hands with her. He even tried to hype the driver of the #24 car up to the Euphoria star, telling her, “Travis and Taylor would have nothing on you two!”

Noah Gragson also had a little help when he met Sydney Sweeney
Another driver who wasn’t as shy as William Byron appeared to be was Noah Gragson, the driver of the #4 car. He went right up to Sydney Sweeney and requested a photo with the actress.

Playing wingman from afar, Dale Earnhardt, Jr.’s Dirty Mo Media also tried to help a brother out. In the comments of the video of Gragson and Sweeney getting their picture taken, the company’s X account wrote, “Hey Noah, thanks for saving our grandma from that burning building on your way home from donating blood. She asks about you all the time and hopes you’re still teaching those English as a second language classes. Also, the puppy you rescued for us is doing great!”
Hey, it’s worth a shot, right? Oh yeah, Ryan Blaney ended up winning the race and Kyle Larson took home the NASCAR Cup championship. Like that matters.
