Here’s a stunning NFL stat for you on a Tuesday: Baker Mayfield’s QB rating in his second season with the Cleveland Browns is lower than Johnny Manziel’s was in his second season with Cleveland.

Plus, Mayfield has already thrown 7 more interceptions than Manziel did that year, according to NFL reporter Dov Kleiman.

Baker Mayfield’s QB rating in his second NFL season is 71.3. Johnny Manziel’s QB rating in his second, and last, NFL season was 74.4.

Manziel had 7 touchdown passes and 5 interceptions in 10 games (6 as the starter). Mayfield has touchdown passes and 12 interceptions – and the Browns still have 8 more games to go.

Mayfield has been sacked 23 times in this season’s 8 games. Manziel was sacked 19 times during his 10 games. So Mayfield, it would appear, has been under more pressure than JFF was back in 2015.

However, according to @NFLResearch, “Baker Mayfield has the lowest passer rating in the NFL when not under pressure this season per @NextGenStats. He is the only QB with more INT than TD passes when not pressured.”

That’s… not good. No wonder Baker has been so testy of late.

So… does this mean…?
