Bill Belichick decided to switch quarterbacks during his college football coaching debut at North Carolina and gave the keys to Max Johnson. His age creates an awkward dynamic with Jordon Hudson.

I can confidently say that this is the first time in college football history that a head coach is dating a girl who is the same age as his quarterback. There is no way it will happen again.
Who is Max Johnson?
Johnson is one of the best stories in sports right now. By all accounts, he is a tremendous person and an even better teammate.
It has been a wild ride.
The son of Super Bowl champion quarterback Brad Johnson began his career at LSU as a three-star prospect in the recruiting Class of 2020. He started 14 games in two seasons with a record of 8-6.
And then it was off to the transfer portal.
Max Johnson went 4-4 in eight starts for Texas A&M over two years before he re-entered the portal. That led him to North Carolina in 2024, prior to the arrival of Belichick.
The 6-foot-5 signal-caller earned the starting job for the Tar Heels as a fifth-year senior but he snapped his leg during the season-opener and missed the remainder of the season.
It was unclear as to whether Johnson would be able to play football again. However, the sixth-year senior fought his way back and ultimately returned to the Tar Heels over the summer to compete for the starting job — but South Alabama transfer Gio Lopez beat him out.
Belichick benched Lopez in favor of Max Johnson against TCU. The latter out-played the former.

It will be interesting to see where UNC goes at the quarterback position moving forward.
Who is Jordon Hudson?
Bill Belichick supposedly started dating Hudson in 2023 after they met on a plane in 2021. There are some questions to be asked about their origin story but that is what they say.
She was on the sideline prior to the season-opener.
