The 153rd Open Championship is in full swing as golfers look to land a major victory in Northern Ireland. The tournament will take place over a four-day span at Royal Portrush Golf Club.

Participants have been on site since early in the week in order to adjust to playing conditions and practice for the upcoming event. They’ve been provided an incredibly lavish clubhouse experience.

The British Open is the oldest golf tournament in the world. Founded in 1860, it was initially held annually at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland. It’s since been put on a rotation between a select group of links golf courses in the United Kingdom.

This year’s venue is Royal Portrush, situated beautifully on the water between a triangle of giant sandhills and overlooked by the 13th century Dunluce Castle.

It was most recently the site of the 148th edition of the Open Championship in 2019. Six years later, it’s returned to the area much to the delight of the field.

Golfers live lavishly in Northern Ireland with incredible amenities.

A “state-of-the-art” clubhouse has been set up for those participating in the event. It provides players with everything they need and more!

On site is premier dining, a bar, entertainment, shopping, a barber, a gym, an ice bath, a sauna, a locker room, and a lounge equipped with a sleep pod. These amenities can be used by both golfers and family.

“I could live here,” one follower wrote on the Golf Channel YouTube video. “Golfers of the past really have to be jealous,” said another.

What’s on the menu?

Golf Channel’s Johnson Wagner said his favorite room was the premier dining area. He described a pizza station, hot dishes, gourmet sandwiches, grilling, pasta, and a smoothie/dessert bar.

Renegade Hospitality is providing some of the food on site. The company posted a series of behind-the-scenes videos of setup and service throughout the week.

Golfers are living much more lavishly than the typical fan, particularly those opting to tough it out in the more affordable camping village.

Players will soak in the comforts provided by the clubhouse while they can. It won’t be there once the tournament ends. The modular tent setup will soon be disassembled. That seems wild given the luxurious feel of the building.
