Brooklyn Cyclones Held An Elaine Benes Dance Contest For ‘Seinfeld’ Night That Delivered The Goods

The Brooklyn Cylones held their annual Seinfled night over the weekend complete with a ‘Whale Story’ bobblehead and an Elaine Benes dance contest that was absolutely incredible.

The George Costanza ‘whale story’ bobblehead spiked interest in this year’s Seinfeld night promo for the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets. The bobbleheads were available for the first 2,500 fans *OR* fans who purchased $35 tickets (vs the normal $20) to guarantee a bobblehead.

But it was definitely the Elain Benes dance contest that stole the night. For those who remember Seinfeld, this is a no-brainer. For those who don’t remember, all you really need to know is that Elaine’s dancing looked like a zombie awake from the the dead.

The Brooklyn Cyclones shared videos across their social channels of the epic Seinfeld night dance contest:

Fans were AMPED UP for Seinfeld night:

In addition to the dance contest, there was a ‘pin the mustache on Keith Hernandez’ contest and an ‘A– Man’ competition:

As far as Minor League Baseball promos go, this simply cannot be topped. You don’t need to be a diehard Seinfeld fan to recognize the Brooklyn Cyclones struck gold with this night.

Anyone in need of a reminder on Elaine’s dance skills:

Every contest is perfect. And it gets better year over year with the limited-edition merch. Fans showing up to Coney Island in Seinfeld jerseys to watch some Single-A ball is quite possibly the perfect Summer outing. I’m hoping to get there next year, assuming they keep it going, which they likely will.
