Bryce Underwood is currently committed to play college football at LSU. However, he hails from the state of Michigan and the Wolverines are reportedly going to try to change his mind.

This comes just a few days after the five-star quarterback publicly laughed at the rumor he could flip.

Underwood is the top-ranked prospect in the recruiting Class of 2025. 41 different schools have offered him a scholarship, including practically every major program in the country— from Penn State, to Tennessee, to Florida State. It was Brian Kelly and the Bayou Bengals who ultimately received his commitment back in January.

Even though Bryce Underwood is locked in on the SEC program in Baton Rouge, there has been a lot of smoke around the flagship program from his home state over the last few weeks. Michigan dropped to 4-3 with a loss at Illinois on Saturday while trying its third different starting quarterback this season.

Sherrone Moore seems to agree that Davis Warren, Alex Orji and Jack Tuttle are not long-term answers. He does not currently have a quarterback committed in this upcoming class. Four-star signal-caller Brady Hart is committed with the Class of 2026.

That leaves a gaping one-year gap at the most important position on the field.

Moore hopes that Underwood could be the solution to this problem. His program is reportedly planning to take another run at 2019 Gatorade Michigan Player of the Year.

Here’s the thing. The Wolverines might be interested in Bryce Underwood, but Bryce Underwood does not seem interested in the Wolverines.

Rumors started to swirl about a $4 million NIL offer out of Ann Arbor last week. There was a lot of speculation that Michigan was dangling the lucrative compensation in front of its in-state quarterback’s head with hopes of luring him away from LSU. Underwood straight-up laughed at the scuttlebutt.

Maybe he was laughing at the seven-figure number. Maybe he was laughing at the Blue and Maize.

Apparently, we are soon going to find out!
