Following the Presidential debate on Tuesday night between Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, pop star Taylor Swift took to Instagram to endorse Harris with a lengthy Instagram post that also referenced the “childless cat lady” comments made by Trump’s running mate J.D. Vance.

Of the many notable celebrities to like Taylor Swift’s Instagram post endorsing Kamala Harris, one of them was basketball phenom Caitlin Clark, one of the most popular women in American pop culture these days.

Following Wednesday night’s loss to the Las Vegas Ages, Clark — who posted 16 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds in the 86-75 loss to the Aces — was asked about her decision to publicly like Swift’s post and touted the massive platform she has due to her fame.

“I think for myself, I have my amazing platform, so I think the biggest thing will be just encourage people to register to vote,” the presumptive WNBA Rookie of the Year told reporters.

“It’s the second time I can vote in a [presidential] election; at 22, I could vote when I was 18. I can do that, that’s the biggest thing I can do with the platform that I have. And that’s the same thing Taylor did. And I think continue to educate yourself with the candidates that we have, the policies that they’re supporting.”

According to reports, over 330,000 people visited the voter registration link that Swift shared on her Instagram page following the debate, which 67 million Americans watched.

Clark, in her first season in the WNBA after being drafted by the Indiana Fever with the #1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, is averaging 19.1 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game thus far this season.
