The Cal Golden Bears host the Miami Hurricanes in primetime on Saturday night as both teams continue to trek through their ACC schedules.
The matchup will represent a historic one with College GameDay on the UC-Berkeley campus for the very first time.
It will also be just the Hurricanes‘ second trip to the university, though the schools have matched up four times prior. The all-time series is split at two games apiece.
While the teams now find themselves conference rivals, a bizarre statement in its own right considering their residence on opposite sides of the country, Miami remains largely unfamiliar with its ACC brethren.
It showed on game week.
The Hurricanes’ social media staff attempted to hype its following up for the 3,000-mile trip, but instead, wound up getting a geography lesson!
Cal Twitter is ripping the Bears’ next opponent.

An image of a Miami football player standing beneath the Golden Gate Bridge is now circulating social media. Cal Twitter took it upon itself to school its upcoming opponent.
The Bay Area is divided into five regions with major cities throughout.
The Golden Gate Bridge is used to connect San Francisco to Marin County and the North Bay area, neither of which include Berkeley. Taking that little detour might set the Hurricanes an hour back from the intended destination!
The Bay Bridge, meanwhile, connects San Francisco to Oakland, which is just five miles from the UC Berkeley campus.
The reaction was one you’d expect from Cal Twitter.
“The good people from the University of Miami football club think their game against Cal will be in San Francisco or Marin.”
“Gonna be late, that’s pretty far from Berkeley.”
“Yes sir, that’s the Golden Gate Bridge located in Berkeley, California.”
“Oh good, they’re gonna end up in Marin and miss the game.”
Making matters all the more hilarious, the Miami football player pictured in the graphic could very well be standing atop a popular nude beach.
I think you’re on the nude part of Baker Beach in which case you are WAY overdressed https://t.co/x3uqcrHHFd

Double whammy!
Miami’s equipment crew has been documenting its road trip across the country, which expects to take a few days. They were about halfway to Berkeley on Wednesday.

Hopefully, they don’t take their football team’s direction and wind up in the wrong area come game day!
