Five-star basketball recruit Caleb Wilson made his college commitment last Friday, picking North Carolina over a slew of other offers. Wilson’s pledge gives the Tar Heels a major boost for the class of ’25 recruiting cycle.
While UNC rejoiced, scorned suitors were upset with the rejection. Kentucky fans, in particular, responded negatively to the decision.
Wilson’s mom took to social media to put Big Blue Nation on blast after the fact. She posted a screenshot of a fan harassing her son in a direct message online.
“These are the types of threats my son is getting from Kentucky Fans,” Sabrina Wilson wrote. “I will be seeking assistance from the law and will not quit until you are behind bars.”
Wilson threatened legal action against those online attacks. She suggests that this is one of many instances in which hate has been directed at her son.

Wilson becomes the headliner in the Tar Heels‘ 2025 cycle, joining four-star classmates Isaiah Denis and Derek Dixon. North Carolina now boasts the No. 7 group in the country with Wilson on board.
Kentucky, meanwhile, has the No. 5 class according to 247 Sports. The fanbase obviously wasn’t happy with missing out on the opportunity to bolster next year’s roster. Caleb Wilson’s mom made sure to publicly shame Big Blue Nation for its response to her son’s commitment.
