The CBS interview saga involving Jordon Hudson continued this week following a statement from North Carolina football coach Bill Belichick. The 73-year-old attempted to shield his girlfriend from criticism received after her viral temper tantrum.
The network responded with a statement of its own a few hours later. It rejected Belichick’s claims.
The two sides met over the weekend to do a segment promoting the coach’s book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football. Things got awkward due to Hudson’s behavior.
She was reportedly “impossible” to work with as she sat off-camera, guiding the conversation in the direction she saw fit. She refused to answer certain questions, leading to numerous delays and tense moments. She was also said to have stormed off the set during the interview.
One moment in the interaction went particularly viral, showing Hudson shutting down reporter Tony Dokoupil’s inquiry about how the two first met.
“We’re not talking about this.”

The couple has already shared the story of their first meeting, which they say occurred in 2021 when they met on a plane flight. Jordon Hudson doubled down on that topic after the fact.
Given that the information was already public knowledge, the response seemed bizarre. Was there something being hidden? Furthermore, Bill Belichick referred to Hudson as the “muse” for the book being promoted. A question regarding the woman he says provided inspiration didn’t seem out of the ordinary.
Belichick gave reasoning for Hudson’s reaction on Wednesday. He says she was simply trying to keep the conversation on track. He also suggested that his team had informed CBS not to speak on his relationship. The network says that’s not true!

The response contradicted the coach’s insinuation. CBS says no topic was off-limits, which is why Dokoupil attempted to get a bit more background on their personal story.
The interview was the latest incident on a growing list of concerning moments involving Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend. Her involvement both on and off the field with the football program has been questioned.
While her specific role is somewhat unclear, she seems to have taken over a marketing and PR role for Belichick. She was very present during North Carolina’s spring practices. She’s also been in the know on football communications after Belichick demanded she be included on all email threads.
Folks at UNC have grown worried amid the drama. The optics aren’t great! It’s been a rocky four months in Chapel Hill for both Jordon Hudson and Bill Belichick. We’ll see if they can stay out of the headlines for the remainder of the offseason.
