VIDEO: Chicago Bears Player Was Trash Talking Washington Fans During Game-Losing Hail Mary

Chicago Bears defensive back Tyrique Stevenson has a lot of explaining to do to his teammates after Sunday’s heartbreaking loss to the Washington Commanders.

Chicago led 15-12 with one play left in the game when Washington rookie sensation Jayden Daniels hit Noah Brown on a 52-yard Hail Mary to win the game.

End zone video of the play shows that Stevenson, a second-round pick in 2023 out of Miami, was responsible for covering Brown.

But he lost Brown early on in the play because he was trying to trash talk to Commanders fans after the ball had already been snapped.

WAIT WAIT WAIT LOL,” ESPN’s Benjamin Solak tweeted. “Tyrique Stevenson (29) is supposed to be following Noah Brown (85) the whole way But he never gets connected to him, in part because he was smack talking with Commanders fans the whole time?”

Not only did Stevenson lose track of Brown, he also never recovered to get in the proper position to make a play.

“We had those plays at the end, and it comes down to that last play,” Bears coach Matt Eberflus said of the play. “We’ve practiced that play a hundred times since we’ve been here,” he said. “I have to look at what the execution was on that. We have a body on a body, boxing guys out like basketball at the very end. We have one guy that’s the ‘rim,’ that knocks the ball down. We’ve got a back-tip guy that goes behind the pile. I’ve got to look at it, detail it out and make sure we’re better next time.”

Chicago would have moved to 5-2 with a victory. Instead, it drops to 4-3 and falls two games behind the NFC North-leading Detroit Lions. Washington, meanwhile, moved to 6-2 and remains atop the NFC East.
