The Detroit Lions have staged an impressive turnaround under Dan Campbell, who needed a little while to find his footing but has transformed the franchise into a legitimate contender. He’s also cemented himself as one of the most entertaining coaches in the league during his tenure, and he’s delivered yet again while telling fans to wear diapers due to his tendency to take chances.
It was fair to question if the decision to replace Matt Patricia with Dan Campbell prior to the start of the 2021 NFL campaign was the correct choice when you consider he failed to inspire a ton of confidence while leading the Detroit Lions to a 3-13 record during his inaugural season as an NFL head coach.
With that said, it was kind of hard not to root for a consummate Football Guy who pledged to bite off kneecaps during his introductory press conference, and it seemed like the Lions were on the right track after finishing with a 9-8 record in 2022.
Detroit is currently sitting at 7-2 and holds the top spot in the NFC North following their win in a shootout against the Chargers on Sunday, which stemmed from Campbell making a number of gutsy calls that led to the team recording four conversions on fourth down.
The decision to go for it on those plays led to plenty of people holding their breath and clenching a certain part of their anatomy, and when Campbell chatted about his aggressive mindset during a radio interview on Tuesday, he advised fans to have some disposable undergarments on hand to deal with it.

Here’s what he had to say:
“I had a feeling going into that game that we needed to be aggressive, and I loved our matchup offensively, and I just knew our guys would respond…
Here’s what I would say—because I tell my family this—just wear a diaper before some of these games. I’ll give them an alert and say, ‘Put them on and be ready to roll.’”
Never change, Dan. Never change (although Lions fans should change if they need to put the diapers to use).
