The highly anticipated release of EA Sports’ College Football 26 came on July 10th giving fans a chance to dive into the coming season a few weeks early. Most have been more than satisfied with the video game’s upgrades from the year prior. Not every review has been positive, however.
Sam Houston State sophomore wide receiver Darrick Bledsoe III wasn’t thrilled with his appearance in the video game. He didn’t recognize his character upon logging on to play!
Bledsoe’s story is a great one. He signed with the program in 2023 as a walk-on. He was put on scholarship this past spring after appearing in four games as a redshirt freshman.

Now, he looks to continue his college football climb in Huntsville, Texas. Sam Houston State kicks off the 2025 campaign against Western Kentucky on August 23rd.
Until then, the pass catcher’s spending his downtime playing video games. He has more motivation this year given his presence in College Football 26.
EA Sports did Darrick Bledsoe dirty.
Unfortunately, he has some initial qualms with his portrayal. His video game persona appears much older due to an oddly chosen hairstyle. EA Sports made Bledsoe completely bald!

Bledsoe’s character looks closer to 50 years old than 20. Many in the comments section agreed. “Looks like my uncle,” one follower said. “That’s lowkey defamation,” wrote another.
Darrick Bledsoe’s not the only college football player dealing with image issues following the video game’s release. It’s become an epidemic!

While some are upset with their look, others caught strays with player ratings – including one Kentucky punter that got a 0 on the toughness scale.
Bledsoe took his baldness in stride. The $1,500 College Football 26 NIL checks helped to ease the pain. He’ll look to show his talents (and his full head of hair) on the field this year with the Bearkats.
