Sunday’s NFL game between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers wasn’t much of a competition.
Denver led 21-7 at halftime and never looked back en route to a comfortable 28-14 victory.
The good news, however, is that the boring game made way for the real star of the show: the second annual Corgi Cup. However, this year’s Corgi Cup went a bit haywire during one of the heats when the competing pups decided that they really weren’t up for a race today.

Denver Broncos Corgi Cup Turns Calamitous Thanks To Non-Cooperative Pups
Ryan Greene of DNVR Sports shared a video of the race, which quickly turned to chaos. Immediately out of the gates, three of the dogs turned around and ran back to their owners. A fourth, who was obviously not clued in on the plan, quickly followed. A fifth dog then went to follow but realized that they wanted to win and eventually got turned in the right direction.
Each of the dogs clearly committed an illegal motion penalty, and the one that eventually crossed the finish line first wasn’t even lined up at the start gate!
As we all know, corgi racing is serious business.
Don’t believe us? Just as Wrong Way Loki, who raced to glory at the largest corgi races in the world a year ago after, aptly, running the wrong way a year prior.
(There seems to be a theme)
The reigning world champ is Milo Bigglesworth of Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Bigglesworth won his heat and then defeated nine other fluffy-butted pups in the championship race to claim the crown.
The Broncos, for some reason, did not announce the 2024 Corgi Cup champion. There is also no evidence of results anywhere on the internet, which seems like a conspiracy.
It’s also entirely possible that none of the dogs properly completed the race, which seems like it would be incredibly on-brand for anyone who has ever had the pleasure of meeting a corgi.
