Ohio State defensive back Devin Sanchez will play the majority of his freshman season of college football at only 18 years old. While that itself is not uncommon, you would not believe he is young as he is if you were to walk by him at the grocery store.
The Texas-grown corner is an absolute monster in terms of his frame.
Sanchez, a five-star prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2025, was ranked as the No. 1 player at his position and a top-five player overall. He chose Ohio State over 33 other offers from schools like Alabama, USC, Florida State, Ole Miss, Texas, LSU, Penn State and Oregon. His options were unlimited but he chose to play for the reigning national champions.
It is expected that Sanchez will play a big role in the rotation for the Buckeyes’ defense as a true freshman. Thus, it was in his best interest to enroll early for the spring semester to get in the system and practice with the team. His reps during spring ball were impressive.
Devin Sanchez is the absolute prototype for a corner with that frame. He’s gonna be a start in the Buckeye secondary soon enough. pic.twitter.com/9LaOEdgsHu

Star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is excited about what he brings to the opposite side of the ball.
Big, long corner who can run. Physical. He got it all.

And he already got his “welcome to college” moment out of the way, which lit a fire underneath him.
Devin Sanchez said his “welcome to Ohio State” moment was the first loss he suffered to Davison Igbinosun in a drill during winter workouts.

Sanchez said IGB let him know about it, too, and it stoked the competitor fire. pic.twitter.com/85W1HTIIRT
Ohio State lists Devin Sanchez at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds on the roster. That might be understated. I would guess that he is closer to 200 than 180.

Sanchez got his first live reps in front of a crowd at the spring game over the weekend. However, it was his interview with former Ohio State safety Tyvis Powell that really made an impression!
Powell, who famously intercepted Devin Gardner to beat Michigan, played at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds. He is up to 250 today. Braxton Miller, his former teammate, couldn’t believe it.
Fam you 250? Lmao 😂

Powell had his excuse at the ready.
It’s that dad life lol

No matter the reason, Tyvis Powell weighs 250 pounds at 6-foot-3. Sanchez made him look tiny during their sideline interview.
Listen I’m 6’3 250 right now. This dude even makes me seem small. That’s crazy. I feel bad for these DBs lol. It just ain’t fair lol #GoBucks pic.twitter.com/rIYnMH2T9y

What are they feeding these kids?! Devin Sanchez is less than four months into his freshman year of college. He obviously put on a very different freshman 15 than his classmates. Good luck to Big Ten receivers!
