Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has made quite the impression in his debut season, to say the least. After Saturday’s virtuoso performance in the NFC Divisional Round against the heavily-favored Detroit Lions, he is just one game from the Super Bowl.

Former Cowboys star wide receiver Dez Bryant is loving what he sees from Jayden Daniels. In fact, he’s ready to proclaim him as a top-five quarterback in the NFL after just 19 career starts.

Daniels had an impressive regular season, throwing for over 3500 yards and adding nearly 900 more on the ground with 31 total touchdowns. His poise in big moments was really impressive for a rookie, and that helped the Commanders stunningly win 12 games this year.

But, it’s the postseason that has seen Daniels cement himself as a bona fide superstar in the NFL. in the Wild Card Round, he went on the road to Tampa Bay and outplayed Baker Mayfield, tallying over 300 yards while not turning the ball over in the team’s dramatic 23-20 win.

But, his signature performance of the season came on Saturday. The Commanders entered the game as near-double-digit underdogs on the road against the Lions. But, Daniels was sensational, tallying 350 total yards and coming up big in pretty much every big spot throughout the game. That’s been a signature of his all year, especially on 4th downs.

It’s impossible to ignore just how good Jayden Daniels is after two sensational playoff performances. Former Cowboys star Dez Bryant has noticed just how good Daniels is.

Honestly, it’s not a bad take. I think most would agree there’s a top tier of quarterbacks composed of Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson. But, why wouldn’t you rank Jayden Daniels at number five right behind those guys? He’s got as good of an argument as anybody does.

If he can lead the Commanders to a win in Philadelphia, his star will grow exponentially.
