Diego Pavia is the Auburn killer. The electrifying college football quarterback took down the Tigers in each of the last two seasons with two different teams and supposedly received a monster NIL offer to do it again with a third team in 2025.
… unless it was Hugh Freeze who tried to prevent another loss…
Pavia, one of the most exhilarating personalities and players in college football, filed a lawsuit against the NCAA last November with hopes of playing a fifth year. A Tennessee judge later granted him a preliminary injunction that will allow him return. It did not require him to stay with Vanderbilt but he chose to do so anyway.
The Commodores won seven games for the first time since 2013 last season. There is a lot of momentum on West End and even more hope for the future. Pavia believes college football will run through Nashville.
"Vanderbilt is going to run Tennessee after this year. This is going to be the new staple of college football. It's going to happen here at Vanderbilt."

The incumbent starting quarterback for Vanderbilt threw for 2,293 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2024. He also ran for 800 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. Pavia plays with reckless abandon and wins at programs that are not “supposed” to win.
As a result of his strong junior year at New Mexico State and senior year at Vandy, the 24-year-old was a hot commodity in the transfer portal. However, at no point did he actually enter the transfer portal. The tampering was technically illegal by NCAA rules but every school is doing it. There are no rules.
Multiple suitors reached out to Deigo Pavia — through his family and the people around him — with an opportunity to transfer. One team in the Southeastern Conference supposedly presented him with an NIL deal worth $4/4.5 million for just one final season. He said no!
$4.5M for Diego Pavia to hit the portal, are you taking that? pic.twitter.com/U2kVHATI20

Pavia did not not name the specific SEC program but Kentucky, Oklahoma, Missouri, Mississippi State, Alabama and Tennessee were the most in need of a quarterback. The other option is Auburn.
Hugh Freeze and the Tigers lost to Pavia and the Aggies in 2023. He lost to Pavia and the Dores in 2024. It would be absolutely hilarious if Auburn presented him with a $4.5 million offer only for him to say no.
We may never know the full story or how much Diego Pavia is getting paid at Vanderbilt but he did not accept his most lucrative offer. West End forever!
