Former Saints Receiver Shared An Incredible Story About How Ridiculously Prepared Drew Brees Is

Every NFL fan has heard the amazing stories about how all time great quarterbacks like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady have prepared for games like absolute maniacs. However, we rarely hear much about the preparation of the guy who just passed everyone on the NFL’s all time list for passing yards in a career, Drew Brees.

I’m not sure why that is. I mean, Brees has now thrown for over 72,000 yards, just signed a two-year, $50 million contract extension with the Saints this past spring, and after five games, leads all NFL quarterbacks with a passer rating of 122.3 having thrown for 11 TDs and ZERO interceptions.

Bro just set the all time passing yards record, at age 39, and he’s not even close to being done. So, yeah, it’s a good bet that he prepares just as hard, if not harder, as those other all time greats.

For proof of Brees’ maniacal preparation habits, former Saints wide receivers Donte Stallworth shared an incredible story about the QB during Brees’ record-breaking Monday night.

Ridiculous. No wonder he’s been so good for so long.

Unfortunately for Stallworth, he got traded to the Eagles around the same time Brees signed with the Saints so he never got to play with him.

Stallworth wasn’t the only former and current NFL player to express their appreciation for Brees on Monday night. Many others chimed in on social media as well.

Of course, the NFL being the NFL, they penalized the Saints for “excessive celebration” after Brees broke the record.

Be worse, NFL. You can’t.

Oh wait. Maybe you can.
