New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is having a breakout season during his second year in the National Football League, and is now beginning to talk the talk in addition to walking the walk.

Earlier in the week, while discussing the 9-2 New England Patriots on ESPN’s First Take, Cam Newton said that their record was “fool’s gold” due to the level of opposition they’ve faced so far, which has been a widespread talking about the Pats this year.

The Patriots currently stand at 9-2, with their wins coming over the Jets, Bucs, Falcons, Browns, Titans, Saints, Bills, Panthers and Dolphins (they’ve lost to the Raiders on opening day and the Steelers in Week 3).

“It has fool’s gold written all over it,”
Newton said on First Take. “Cubic zirconia. Middle of the mall. And yes, is Drake Maye playing good football? … Absolutely.

“The thing I have a problem with is if you keep playing sorry scrubs … it has one and done written all over it.”

Drake Maye responded to Cam Newton’s criticism by hitting him with the “I don’t think about you at all” from Mad Men

Maye had the perfect response to the former NFL MVP, however, as he hit him with the timeless Mad Men “I don’t think about you at all” diss.

“I don’t even know what show he’s on. I think they get paid to make remarks and make certain comments,” Maye said while appearing on Boston’s WEEI radio station.

“So, I just worry about what people in our organization think, and worry about we think and what my teammates think. People are going to have different opinions. I’m just going out there on Sunday and worrying about ourselves.”

So far this season, Maye has compleed 71.9% of his passes for 2,836 yards, 20 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.
