Drew Lock Further Humiliates Giants With Atrocious Start To Game

The New York Giants are the laughingstock of the NFL due to their on-field performance and the storylines that came out of their stint on an offseason version of HBO’s Hard Knocks. MetLife Stadium is empty, and apathy around the team is at an all-time high.

On Sunday, the Giants hosted the New Orleans Saints in a sleepy 1PM kickoff. Anyone looking for a positive start to the game from the New York offense was severely disappointed.

After benching and then cutting Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito suffered an injury. So, the G-men are starting NFL journeyman Drew Lock at quarterback. He was fine last week against Dallas, but his start on Sunday against New Orleans was putrid.

Just how bad was Drew Lock in the first quarter? He couldn’t complete a pass! Lock was 0-8 in the frame, including this play on 4th down.

0/8 in a quarter is nearly impossible when the league completion percentage is in the mid-60’s each week.

If you’re looking to tank like the Giants (2-10, losers of seven straight) are, a Drew Lock performance like that might be just what you need.

I wish I could tell Giants fans that brighter days are ahead. But, I’m just not sure that’s true.
