There were multiple angles of the crash captured as the qualifying was being filmed and it is borderline unbelievable that the drivers made it out uninjured.

The crash took place between Team Rafa, owned by Rafael Nadal, and Team Brazil by Claure Group. Racer Tom Chiappe’s boat sustained the most damage and began taking on water after the collision.

The Associated Press put together this clip of the collision from multiple angles:

‘It was scary’

After the collision, Team Rafa owner Rafael Nadal, who was watching when it happened, spoke with the media. He told Monaco Life “It was scary. Seeing it in real-time, I was worried for Tom. From the sidelines it looked dangerous. The main thing is he’s okay, he’s healthy. Everything else doesn’t matter when you go through something like this.”

After the crash, Team Rafa faced a major setback after leading in the championship standings. That ultimately led to Virat Kohli’s Team Blue Rising getting their first E1 victory and they did it in front of star-studded company.

E1 team owners LeBron James, Tom Brady, Marc Anthony, Didier Drogba, Rafael Nadal and Marcel Claure wer eall on hand to watch the Monaco race.

Team Brady finished in second and the Team Brazil by Claure Group finished in 3rd despite the crash in qualifying.
