Ed Orgeron, better known as Coach O, would be interested in returning to LSU if he received a call from the board of trustees.
Earlier this year, Coach O revealed that he’s starting to get the coaching itch again after getting fired by LSU in 2021.
“I think it’s time,” he said during an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast. “I haven’t made the decision totally… It’s been four years since I’ve been out. I’m getting the itch again…”
“I really like college football. I would entertain the pros, but I think college football is where I’ve been, and I really like it.”
Over the weekend, LSU fired Brian Kelly after the team got blown out by Texas A&M.
While speaking with ESPN radio, Orgeron was asked if he’d be interested in returning to LSU after being ousted.
“I’d love to. Are you kidding me? Hey, I’m one phone call away,” Orgeron said “I just gotta get in my truck; I could be there today.”

LSU fans seemed intrigued by the idea of Coach returning to the LSU sidelines.
Would be the best hire ANY new coach could make. This man can recruit better than anyone and can coach some dline https://t.co/2X8g9euiFe

Coach O is a hell of a motivator and recruiter, I would not be opposed to this, at all https://t.co/YnDronlEV5

Coach O went on to say that he would consider coming back as assitant head coach at LSU if Lane Kiffin took the job.

LSU probably won’t hire Orgeron, considering how his tenure ended in scandal.
