Florida State is already scouting the college football recruiting Class of 2037. Devin Rispress wants to offer his six-year-old son a scholarship after his impressive touchdown run over the weekend.
The Seminoles have their quarterback of the future!
Even if the landscape of college football looks completely different in 12 years, the brand in Tallahassee will not waver. Win, lose or otherwise, Florida State is always going to be Florida State.
Who is Devin Rispress?
Rispress is considered one of the top back-of-house minds in collegiate athletics. He currently serves as the director of recruiting at Florida State.
The highly-touted recruiter spent last season as the assistant director of player personnel and high school relations at Colorado, helping to build a roster that won nine games for the first time since 2016. Florida A&M University gave him his start as the director of football recruiting in 2022.
The Rattlers won 21 games during his two-year tenure with the program. Rispress was named as the FCS Recruiter of the Year in 2023.
Prior to his time at FAMU, Rispress coached nine seasons of high school football in the Tallahassee area. Very few people know the region like he does. His ability to recruit the state of Florida was a big part of why Mike Norvell brought him on staff as the director of recruiting at Florida State in December of 2024.
Florida State is recruiting a six-year-old quarterback.
Devin Rispress was unable to attend his son’s youth football game on Saturday because the Seminoles were too busy beating up on the Kent State Golden Flashes. Junior turned six years old back in March.
Although Rispress was not in attendance at the game, he received play-by-play updates throughout the morning. It took only one play for his son to score a touchdown.
The six-year-old son of Florida State’s director of recruiting dropped back to pass but nobody was open. Devin Jr. tucked the ball around the corner and went untouched for six.
I’m not there because we have business to handle vs Kent State but this is the first play of the game. Can i offer my 6 yr old son 😭😭 pic.twitter.com/cUJzLZf1lC

Devin Rispress Sr. was thrilled with Devin Jr.’s performance.
“This is the first play of the game,” he wrote. “Can i offer my 6 yr old son 😭😭”
As far as I can tell, there is no rule against it!
Florida State can lock down its starting quarterback for 2038. He could also be the next star safety based on his highlight tape.
Have no fear, Seminoles fans. The future is already on the way!
