The New York Giants have the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and all signs point to them using it to get Abdul Carter. However, it seems like the son of the team’s GM hinted at another move the franchise is planning on making based on what he posted on his Instagram Story the night before things get underway in Green Bay.
The NFL Draft is the biggest event of the offseason, and fans and analysts spend months poring over the prospects up for grabs while analyzing the needs of the teams who will have the opportunity to secure their talents in an attempt to forecast where they’ll end up.
We usually have a pretty good idea of what the first few picks will end up being by the time draft day rolls around, and that’s once again the case in 2025; most experts seem to agree the Titans will be snagging Cam Ward with the first overall pick, Travis Hunter will go to the Browns with the second, and Abdul Carter will be joining the Giants.
On Wednesday, Diana Russini published a report that asserts New York did everything in its power to convince Tennessee to part ways with the top pick in the hopes of getting Ward to address a quarterback situation that currently leaves a bit to be desired. However, all signs point to the Titans hanging onto it.
As things currently stand, the Giants won’t be picking again until the second selection in the second round, but also Russini hinted they may attempt to trade up to get a QB—and it sure looks like the son of Giants GM Joe Schoen revealed who they’re targeting.

There are a bunch of mock drafts from well-respected NFL analysts that predict the Giants plan to execute a trade that allows them to go that route, so while it’s not necessarily the biggest surprise in the world, you have to assume Carson’s dad would prefer him to keep things a bit closer to the chest.
