The last two years have been a whirlwind for women’s college basketball superstar Hailey Van Lith. Van Lith rose to fame in the 2022-23 season as the star player for the Louisville Cardinals. She then made headlines by transferring to the reigning national champion LSU Tigers. But her time at LSU was largely considered a disappointment and one year later she transferred yet again, this time to the TCU Horned Frogs.
Now it appears that Van Lith, who also won an Olympic bronze medal for Team USA in women’s 3×3 basketball, is finally settling in again. She impressed in her debut with the Horned Frogs, notching 21 points, five assists and five rebounds in a win over Houston Christian. And Van Lith has carried that momentum forward, notching her first career double-double on Sunday in an upset victory over No. 13 North Carolina State.

Hailey Van Lith Moved To Tears After Recording First Career Double-Double
Van Lith scored 18 points and dished out a career-high 10 assists in the 76-73 victory. And the game, TCU head coach Mark Campbell informed Van Lith of the news, and the superstar was moved to tears.

“Did I get a double-double,” Van Lith asked excitedly. “I’m gonna cry.”
The video shows a visibly emotional Van Lith wiping tears away as Campbell praises her.
It may seem like an overreaction to some. But the emotions really show just how tumultuous the last year or so has been for Van Lith. The move to LSU clearly didn’t work out the way she hoped. Former teammate Angel Reese spoke recently about how Van Lith struggled to fit in with teammates. Now it appears she’s found a place to call home. And her game is yet again starting to show it.
Hopefully, this is just the beginning of a fantastic season for one of the women’s basketball’s biggest stars.
