Hulk Hogan’s son Nick Hogan has filed a lawsuit against Bubba the Love Sponge over an unauthorized documentary the radio host has planned for release. The film is reportedly centered on the 2012 scandal involving Hogan and Bubba’s then-wife which was caught on video and spread like wildfire across the internet.

The documentary, titled Video Killed The Radio Star: The Untold Story Of The Hulk Hogan S– Tape Scandal, which was scheduled to come out this month, purports to “tell the real story of how Hulk’s 2012 romp with Bubba’s then-wife, Heather Clem, got leaked to the media.” Nick Hogan claims in his lawsuit that the film uses “unauthorized images” from the scandalous tape and that Bubba (real name: Todd Alan Clem) is “promoting the documentary using Hulk’s trademarks without permission.”

Nick Hogan also claims that by releasing the documentary, Bubba would be violating a settlement agreement he signed with Hulk Hogan after the scandal. He is suing to stop the release of the documentary and is seeking unspecified damages, according to TMZ.

Bubba the Love Sponge responds to lawsuit

On Wednesday, Bubba went off on Nick Hogan for filing the lawsuit against him. During his rant, the radio host called Nick a “dumb—” and asked, “Did you watch it? Do you realize your father is not portrayed in a bad light at all?”

Bubba also claimed that he shouldn’t even be a defendant in the lawsuit because he doesn’t even own the scandalous video of Hulk and his ex-wife. “I don’t own any of it. They’re suing the wrong people,” he said.

He may have a point there. In March of 2020, Hulk Hogan filed a $110 million lawsuit against Cox Radio, Bubba, and two other radio hosts, Mike “Cowhead” Calta and Matt “Spiceboy” Loyd. The case was settled out of court and it was Loyd, his wife Tasha Carrega, and attorney Keith Davidson who reportedly signed a stipulated permanent injunction that stated they would not leak or possess the video.

“Nick, how much more money do you need buddy? You’re suing me. You’re suing me. Do you know the things I’ve done for you?” Bubba added.

Interestingly, shortly after Hulk Hogan’s death, his daughter Brooke Hogan appeared on the Bubba the Love Sponge Show after not speaking with the radio host since 2011. During their conversation, Brooke Hogan revealed that she knew Bubba wasn’t the person who leaked her father’s infamous video. She claimed that her father knew that the tape was stolen by one of Bubba’s employees and that her dad didn’t blame him.
