IndyCar Driver Conor Daly Inks Brand Deal With Depend After Peeing Pants At Indy 500

For Indiana native Conor Daly, there would be no bigger accomplishment in his professional life than winning the Indianapolis 500. Which is why the IndyCar driver had no shame about urinating in his pants while sitting on the grid of the iconic race one week ago.

But what Daly didn’t know was that his embarrassing moment would parlay itself into a fantastic business opportunity.

“There’s been a lot of toilet talk about maybe some using of the bathroom, because we had to wait a long time before the race, right? Never in my life have I urinated in my race car until Sunday,” the 33-year-old said at the race’s celebratory banquet following an eighth-place finish.

I was sitting on the grid, and I was like, ‘This is the best car I’ve ever been in in my whole life. I’m gonna have to pee in this thing.’ I kid you not. I legitimately urinated before the race even started…I had to go really bad.”

But what some might see as an embarrassing moment, others see as an opportunity. Daly showed up to this weekend’s Detroit Grand Prix rocking a new helmet sponsorship from none other than diaper brand Depends.

“There’s a first time for everything-including peeing your pants in your race car 🏎️ @Depend, is giving me (and my mechanics) the backup support I need this weekend 🩲let’s go racing! #indycar,” Daly posted to his X account on Saturday.

Daly’s teammate Sting Ray Robb even got in on the fun, delivering a tub full of adult diapers to Daly’s garage prior to Saturday’s qualifying session.

Hey, it’s hard to argue with the results. Daly now has four consecutive top-10 finishes in the Indy 500. So maybe he’s onto something. However, I don’t imagine many other drivers will be lining up to try his bathroom strategy.
