Jason Kelce was back in Philly this week to preview a Monday night football matchup between the Eagles and Falcons. Prior to taking his spot on the Monday Night Countdown set with ESPN, he was spotted tailgating with fans.
While the energy was high in pregame leadup, there was one somewhat tense moment involving Kelce and a Philadelphia content creator.
Rob Dunphy, better known as Dunphy215, got a chance to hang out on stage with the former Super Bowl winner – A dream come true for any Eagles fanatic.
At one point in the interaction, Kelce asked Dunphy to line up across from him in a three-point stance before launching into a chest bump to fire up the home crowd.
It took an unfortunate turn!
Jason Kelce accidentally injured the fan, who appeared to tweak his knee on the landing. Not ideal!
Dunphy attempted to fill followers in on the severity of the injury throughout the night, which he wouldn’t let stop him from attending the game in person.
Tuesday, he gave an official update on X.
“What’s up everybody? Appreciate everyone reaching out with love and support… I’m good. My knee has seen better days. I’m in good spirits, though, it’s just a little banged up. I’ll be alright.
“X-rays came back. They pretty much said, ‘Man the f— up.’ They came back good… Just a little update because people keep messaging me. It’s pretty cool how the Eagles fanbase shows me love…
“Jason Kelce did reach out. Jason Kelce is the man. His whole team is amazing. They’re helping me live out every Eagles fan’s dream. I couldn’t thank them enough.”

Dunphy noted that Kelce’s people have been in contact. He also said he’d do it all over again, even knowing the final result!
The chest bump was just one part of an eventful Monday night for Jason Kelce in his return to Philadelphia. Before hopping on set with ESPN, he spent the majority of his time tailgating with patrons and providing entertainment for the fanbase that supported him for 13 seasons.
In this particular case, all seems like it will end well.
