The biggest story of the NFL Draft, and one of the biggest stories in NFL Draft history, was the fall of Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders from being a projected first-round pick by some mock drafters to being drafted in the 5th round by the Cleveland Browns. It stunned onlookers and was the biggest story in sports for three straight days.

To add insult to injury, so to speak, for Shedeur Sanders was a prank call he got during the draft on Friday telling him that he was about to be drafted, only for that not happen. It’s been revealed that Jax Ulbrich, the son of Falcons Defensive Coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, made the calls, but the Falcons won’t punish Jeff Ulbrich for the data leak.

Sanders, the son of NFL legend and current Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, is lauded for his accuracy and playmaking skills. But, reports are that the pre-draft process was a disaster for Shedeur Sanders, as he bombed interviews and seemed disengaged. That, plus questions about his arm talent, athleticism, and issues with holding on to the ball too long, resulted in him slipping to 144th overall to the Browns.

This was the prank call on Friday early in the 2nd Round that led to outrage on the internet.

For some reason, the prank callers, unknown at the time, recorded the call!

It’s safe to say they’re not the brightest crayons in the box.

So, how did these pranksters get Shedeur’s number? It turns out that one of them was the son of former Jets interim head coach and current Falcons DC Jeff Ulbrich, Jax Ulbrich.

Jax, who plays football at D3 Berry College, has admitted to being the prank caller.

Jax has apologized.

While it was unintentional, there’s no doubt that this was a huge security breach by Jeff Ulbrich. He has to be more careful, for sure. But, there will be no punishment for Ulbrich, it seems.

I think the embarrassment for him due to his son’s actions is punishment enough.
