Washington Commanders safety Jeremy Reaves celebrated the team’s playoff clinching win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night with a ring. Not a Super Bowl ring, however, but an engagement ring, as he proposed to his girlfriend Mikaela Worley on the field after the game.
Unfortunately for Reaves, however, his viral moment with the Washington Commanders and his fiancee might have dug a skeleton out of his closet, as it caused a woman claiming to be his former side piece to blow up his spot on social media.
According to X, formerly Twitter, user @onlykiaaaaa, Reaves was previously “in her DMs” and was trying to “f— her.”
“Not the same man who was in my DMs trying to fly me out & f— I think the f— not,” the woman wrote on social media in a post that’s racked up over 1.8 million views. Given the language of the tweet, however, we can’t embed it here, so you’ll have to head over to Twitter to check it out for yourself.
In a follow up tweet, the woman did claim that she ultimately met up with Reaves.
Reaves, who was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of South Alabama University in 2018, joined Washington later that season and has been with the team ever since.
Reeves’ career began to take off in 2022 when he was named as the special teams starter for the 2023 Pro Bowl. Earlier this year, he signed a two-year contract extension with the Commanders. This season, Reaves — still primarily a special team player — has made 20 tackles and has forced one fumble.
The Commanders will close out their 2024 regular season with a road matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, January 5. As things currently stand, the Commanders are the sixth seed in the NFC, which would see them visit the 5th seeded Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card round. If the Vikings beat the Lions in Week 18, the Commanders will likely take on Detroit.
