It’s been almost 25 years since the Cowboys managed to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Dallas and it’s safe to say it’s been a long couple of decades for Jerry Jones, who saw his team win three Super Bowls in four campaigns just a few years after he purchased the team in 1989.

Jones has done everything in his power to help his franchise return to glory with middling results, as the Cowboys have been unable to make it past the divisional round of the playoffs since their last championship, and as things currently stand, there’s no real reason to believe they’ll be able to turn their fortunes around this year.

The Cowboys are currently sitting at 6-6, and while they’re technically at the top of the NFC East, their performance this season hasn’t exactly inspired a ton of confidence and Jones hasn’t been shy about making his feelings known.

Jason Garrett found himself in Jones’ crosshairs after the Cowboys lost to the Patriots and the owner wasn’t shy about tearing into the head coach following the game before doubling down on his comments during a radio appearance a couple of days later.

Garrett largely declined to take any responsibility when asked about what Jones had to say, and shortly after, we learned he’ll likely have to win a Super Bowl this year if he wants to keep his job.

The coach certainly didn’t help his case when the Cowboys dropped a game against the Bills on Thanksgiving, and based on what Jones had to say about the current situation, Garrett might want to start polishing up his résumé.

On Tuesday, Jones spoke with 105.3 FM The Fan and admitted he’s already started to look at other options, and while he said Garrett has the talent to coach in the NFL, he implied he might not be on the sidelines for the Cowboys next year.

I think it’s safe to say the hot seat is absolutely scorching right now.
