Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones got feisty with a reporter who brought up the blinding sun that fills AT&T Stadium during 4 p.m. games.
During the Cowboys’ 34-6 home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, star wide receiver Ceedee Lamb dropped a would-be touchdown pass from backup quarterback Cooper Rush.
When asked about the drop after the game, Lamb laid the blame at the feet of the sun.

“Couldn’t see the ball. Couldn’t see the ball, at all. The sun,” Lamb told reporters after the game, adding he is “one thousand percent” in favor of installing curtains onto the stadium, a suggestion that prompted a feisty response out of team owner Jerry Jones.
“Well let’s tear the damn stadium down and build another one? Are you kidding me?” Jones responded to a reporter who broached the topic of AT&T Stadium’s now-infamous glare. “By the way, we know where the sun is going to be when we decide to flip the coin or not. We do know where the damn sun is going to be in our own stadium. Everybody has got the same thing. Every team that comes in here has the same issues.”
“I’m saying, the world knows where the sun is. You get to know that almost a year in advance. Someone asked me about the sun. What about the sun? Where’s the moon?”
A frustrated Jerry Jones had some comments about the sun impacting play at AT&T Stadium: “By the way, we know where the sun is going to be when we decide to flip the coin or not. We do know where the damn sun is going to be in our own stadium.”

With the loss to the Eagles and Dak Prescott sidelined for the rest of the season, the 2024 Cowboys season is all but officially over despite never getting off the ground in the first place, and that leaves Jones — now 82 years old — facing the prospect of having to blow the whole team up.
