It’s been a crazy few days in the NBA world in terms of trades. Obviously the Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis swap between the Mavericks and Spurs takes the cake. On Wednesday, we had another blockbuster when the Miami Heat traded away disgruntled star Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors.
Heat were taking on the Philadelphia 76ers in the City of Brotherly Love. The Heat players found out in a unique way, as they were told by a fan sitting near the team’s bench.
Butler has been unhappy for quite some time in Miami, and has been suspended multiple times in the last month, including an indefinite suspension a week ago after walking out of practice. He reportedly wanted to go to the Phoenix Suns, but it was tough to make a deal work with Phoenix. So, he’s headed to the Warriors.

Golden State Warriors receive: Jimmy Butler
Detroit Pistons receive: Lindy Waters III, Josh Richardson
Miami Heat receive: Andrew Wiggins, P.J. Tucker, protected 2025 Golden State first-rounder
Utah Jazz receive: Dennis Schröder
Toronto Raptors receive: Kyle Anderson
