Jordy Bahl is back and college softball is better for it. The two-way superstar made her long-awaited return for Nebraska on Thursday night after a year-long recovery from a broken leg.

She immediately put the entire country right back on notice.

Bahl, a redshirt senior, was the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2021 as the Gatorade National Player of the Year. The 5-foot-8 right-handed pitcher and utility infielder committed to Oklahoma out of high school and played two years in Norman. The Sooners won back-to-back national championships. Their ace posted a 44-2 record with 397 strikeouts and a 0.99 ERA in 288.2 innings and went 14-for-40 (.350) with two doubles, two walks, four stolen bases, nine RBIs and 13 runs scored.

However, the best player in college softball decided to transfer to Nebraska after her sophomore season. Bahl ruffled a lot of feathers with her decision but she just wanted to get back closer to home.

Unfortunately, the star transfer played only one game for the Huskers in 2024. Jordy Bahl tore her ACL during her debut. The season was over before it began.

Bahl finally returned to the circle on Thursday, exactly 364 days later. It was dominant.

She allowed just one run in seven innings with seven strikeouts.

She also hit a home run and finished with two RBIs. The dinger was gone as soon as it hit the bat.

No. 19 Nebraska upset No. 6 Tennessee by a score of 7-1. Jordy Bahl is so back.

The best player in college softball returned to the circle and to the batter’s box and picked right back up where she left off two years ago. The Cornhuskers are the biggest sleeping giants in the country this season. They are going to go as far as Jordy Bahl will take them, which if history is any indication, could be the whole way.
