Fox Sports/Speak
Earlier this week, it was reported that Joy Taylor had been let go by Fox Sports 1 after the network decided not to renew her contract. In addition to axing Taylor’s show Speak, FS1 also canceled Emmanuel Acho’s The Facility, which he hosted alongside former NFL running back LeSean McCoy, and Breakfast Ball, which was hosted by Craig Carton, Mark Schlereth and Danny Parkins.
Additional network talent effected by the cancelations also includes Chase Daniel, James Jones, Paul Pierce, Michael Irvin, and Keyshawn Johnson.
Joy Taylor’s departure from the network comes a little more than six months after she was named in a lawsuit filed by a former Fox Sports 1 make-up artist, accusing her of sleeping with men at the network — Acho and FOX Sports EVP Charlie Dixon — to “advance her career.”
While Taylor survived the initial blowback and returned to the air not long after the lawsuit was made public, Fox Sports has ultimately decided not to renew her contract, claiming the three shows were canceled because they “struggled to find a huge audience.”
Kay Adams, Tony Reali and Max Kellerman contenders for new shows at Fox Sports 1, per report
Following up The Athletic‘s initial report of Taylor’s dismissal is a story from Front Office Sports that claims sports media personalities such as Tony Reali, Max Kellerman, and Kay Adams could be in play for new series at the network.
“Sources told FOS that on-air talents who could be in play for new FS1 programming include Tony Reali, Max Kellerman, and Kay Adams,” FOS reported.
“Reali, the longtime host of ESPN’s canceled Around the Horn, told FOS he’s interested in ‘absolutely everything.’ While he plans to be ‘discerning’ about his future, Reali envisions a future where he works in both the TV and digital spaces at the same time.”
“I’m open to talking to anybody and everybody at all times,” Reali added, according to the report.
After news of Taylor’s dismissal broke, the former Fox Sports 1 personality took to Instagram to share a video of her working out in a tropical location.
