Justin Fields did not look good in his second preseason game with the Jets. On Saturday vs the Giants, Fields went 1-5 and threw for only 4 yards with a horrific passer rating of 39.4.
After the game, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn spoke about his starting quarterback and offense having issues.
“Overall, in general, it wasn’t good enough,” coach Aaron Glenn said. “I don’t care if it was the starting offense, I don’t care if it was the second-team offense, the third-team offense. I’m just going to say that overall, it wasn’t good enough.”
“Listen, I thought we ran the ball fairly well,” Glenn said. “But overall, I thought we were sloppy. And the guys know that. We had too many dropped passes. Our passing game has to be better; we all know that. And it will be better. But again, we just have to go back to work. That’s what next week is going to be about.”
Fields quickly addressed the team’s disappointing perfromance during his postgame media availability.
“It’s in a solid spot, but like I’m always gonna say, you guys are gonna ask ‘how do you feel about that?’ I’m always going to say we need to improve. We have room to improve on. That goes with everything, so you can ask me how I feel about this, how do I feel about that—it’s going to be the same answer every time: there is room to grow in every aspect of offense, myself included, just everyone. So yeah.”

Earlier this year, the Jets signed Fields to a two-year deal worth $40 million, which includes $30 million guaranteed.
The Jets are likely to try to work things out with Fields, considering how much money they’re paying.
