The Philadelphia Eagles are just three wins from the franchise’s second Super Bowl. After a slow first quarter of the season, there’s a good argument to be made that Philadelphia has been the best team in football since October and they definitely have what it takes to go all the way.
When you’re good, that typically means that your coordinators will be sought-after for head coaching jobs. That’s all fine and good, but Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is doing interviews in the midst of the playoff run, a troubling fact for many Eagles fans.
Moore, who is in his first season as the offensive coordinator in Philadelphia after serving as the offensive coordinator in Dallas from 2019-2022 and in the same position with the Chargers last year, has had a sensational season in Philadelphia. He helped Saquon Barkley to a 2000-yard season and handled injuries to weapons like Devonta Smith and AJ Brown expertly. Moore was considered a hot head-coaching candidate a few years ago, and is considered that again.
The Dallas Cowboys are set to interview Kellen Moore for their opening sometime this weekend. The Eagles are set to play the Rams Sunday afternoon with a chance to go to the NFC Championship Game on the line. That means that his focus isn’t solely on Sunday’s game. Understandably, Eagles fans are not happy about it.
Kellen Moore has obviously earned this & deserves to be a head coach somewhere, I have absolutely zero problems with it…
I DO, however, have a problem with the timing… I absolutely hate that you’re allowed to interview a guy in the middle of a playoff run, right before a game https://t.co/VdAiMlxDU0

Kellen Moore having three interviews in the three days before a divisional round playoff game has me tweakin'. https://t.co/yTWO2OmWhq

I can’t stand that the NFL allows playoff coaches to interview for head coaching jobs. Kellen Moore has 3 interviews this week! Instead of preparing for the game, he has to prepare for the biggest interviews of his life.
Interviews should start the day after the Super Bowl!

Personally don’t love the thought of Jerry Jones and the Cowboys talking to Kellen Moore this weekend before a Divisional Round Game.

These Eagles fans have valid points. I wouldn’t want my coach interviewing for other jobs just days before a playoff game, either.
