WWE star Becky Lynch drew some cheap heat on Monday night’s episode of “Raw” in Birmingham, England by mocking the death of legendary rock star Ozzy Osbourne.

Osbourne, who passed away in July, was a Birmingham native. Lynch used that fact to mock not only the former Black Sabbath frontman, but also the city.

“I am not wrestling in Birmingham,” Lynch said during a promo on the show. “The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago. Ozzy Osbourne has the good sense to move to LA, a proper city. If I lived in Birmingham, I’d die too.”

Some fans loved the jab, calling it provocative. But others believed that the Irish wrestler took things a step too far. One of those who wasn’t happy with the comment was Kelly Osbourne, the daughter of the rocker.

“Becky Lynch you are a disrespectful dirtbag. Birmingham would not p— on you if you were on fire. #BirminghamForever,” Osbourne wrote on her Instagram story. “Shame on the WWE for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home.”

A number of fans agreed with Osbourne.

“If she ended this after saying ‘at least he had the good sense to leave this s—hole hurhurhur’ it would’ve been a decent bit. But in true pro wrestler fashion, she let the dorky voice in her head win and overdid it,” one wrote.

But others didn’t feel the same way.

It’s called heel promo. Try to understand. She didn’t say anything bad about him, just said Birmingham sucks,” another fan responded.

Ultimately, Lynch’s comments drew attention, which is the goal. But they definitely raise the question of “how far is too far?” when it comes to pro wrestling promos.
