Laney Choboy recently said goodbye to her boyfriend, Jeremiah Charles, as Nebraska starts to prepare for the upcoming college football season. The Cornhuskers’ volleyball star bought him a gift basket worth at least $300 to send him off to fall camp!

Who is Laney Choboy?
Choboy is one of the best defensive players in the country. She arrived to Lincoln as a highly-ranked prospect in the recruiting Class of 2023 and immediately worked into the lineup as a defensive specialist.
The 5-foot-3 back row player averaged 1.82 digs per set in 34 matches with 37 set assists and 14 service aces during her freshman season. Her sophomore year was just as impressive.
The Cornhuskers reached the national semifinal in 2024. With Lexi Rodriguez gone to graduation, Choboy is expected to be the starting libero for a Nebraska team that should compete for a national title again in 2025.
Meanwhile, her boyfriend is currently competing for a starting role with the football team. Jeremiah Charles played in all 13 games as a redshirt freshman last season and could crack the lineup at corner.
He and Choboy often go viral for their videos on TikTok.
They started as best friends.
They have since become a couple.
However, Choboy will be without Smith for the next week.
Fall camp is underway at Nebraska!
The college football season is right around the corner so the Huskers are locking in. Its players will spend the next five-to-10 days inside the team facility— eating, sleeping, practicing, repeat.

She made sure that he would not forget her while he is gone by preparing him a “fall camp basket” with all of his favorite things. It was not cheap!

That is only for the shoes! With everything all-in, including the actual basket itself, I would guess that Laney Choboy spent approximately $400 on the fall camp basket in total.
She has more than 130,000 followers on Instagram and 370,000 followers on TikTok, plus whatever NIL/revenue share compensation she is getting from Nebraska, so finances must not be an issue. I certainly did not have this kind of money to spend on a gift basket while I was in college!
