LeBron James Being Sued By Angry Fan Who Says He Was ‘Duped’ Into Buying Expensive Lakers Tickets After Viral ‘Second Decision’ Ad

One Lakers fan is not happy with LeBron James.

Earlier this week, LeBron teased that he was making a “second decision,” which many believed could be his retirement announcement.

LeBron’s mysterious announcement caused a frenzy among NBA fans, leading to an immediate surge in ticket prices for Lakers games, according to StubHub.

We’re seeing a large increase in demand for Lakers’ games since the announcement. Sales increased by 20x for Lakers games in the hour after the announcement This is largely due to sales for the Lakers’ final home game against the Utah Jazz on 4/13; we’re also seeing a spike for their home opener against the Golden State Warriors on 10/22. Price of average tickets sold when up by 2x in the hour following announcement ($250 –> $500).

LeBron went on to reveal that his “second decision” announcement was actually an ad for Hennessy.

One angry fan is now suing LeBron, claiming he got “duped” into buying expensive tickets due to the ad.

Andrew Garcia, a 29-year-old, lifelong Lakers fan, filed the lawsuit in a small claims court in Los Angeles County on Wednesday … claiming James owes him $865.66 after he says the hooper seemingly intimated he was about to announce his retirement.

Garcia purchased two tix for the March 31, 2026 date for $432.83 apiece … but he says when LeBron on Tuesday revealed his big decision was merely an ad for Hennessy, the tickets lost almost all of their value.
