On Tuesday, the International Olympic Committee made it official: the 2020 Summer Olympic Games are being postponed.

“The IOC President and the Prime Minister of Japan have concluded that the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo must be rescheduled to a date beyond 2020 but not later than summer 2021, to safeguard the health of the athletes, everybody involved in the Olympic Games and the international community,” a joint statement read.

Unfortunately, this means that athletes who were in the midst of hard preparation for the Summer Olympics this year will now have to wait a year to compete, assuming they are still selected to compete.

On the plus side, at least the Summer Olympics athletes will still have an opportunity to fulfill their dreams, unlike college athletes in spring sports who are in their final season of eligibility.

One of those people who still plans to compete in the Summer Olympic Games in 2021 is track star Lolo Jones, who coincidentally, recently spoke with Kevin Hart about the debauchery that takes place in the Olympic Village.

We know this because once the announcement was made, postponing the Summer Games, Jones took to Twitter with what has to be the best set of reactions both before as well as after the postponement news broke.

So glad she’s still planning to compete in 2021. We need more stuff like this during the Olympics…
