LSU freshman running back JT Lindsey turned himself in to police on Friday on two felony counts of accessory after the fact to second-degree murder. Lindsey, a Louisiana native, allegedly harbored a pair of murder suspects in his dorm room.

His attorney, Kris Perret, claims that Lindsey was unaware that the two men – 17-year-old Shemell Jacobs and 18-year-old Keldrick Jordan – were wanted by police at the time. But the arrest warrant for Lindsey alleges that the Tigers’ player knew the suspects were wanted, citing an interview with one of Lindsey’s associates.

Both Jacobs and Jordan were arrested last week inside the Nicholson Gateway dorms by the U.S. Marshals Service.

According to reports, the pair of suspects allegedly stayed in Lindsey’s on-campus apartment for nearly two weeks. Marshals said they found multiple firearms in the unit, including two AR-15 rifles, a Draco, and a Glock. Jacobs and Jordan were wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Corey Brooks in Alexandria, Louisiana, where both Lindsey and the two suspects are from.

“At this time, guys, we are cooperating with LSU PD,” Perret told local news station WAFB 9. “My client maintains he’s fully innocent of all charges and any wrongdoing. We hope to get this straightened out pretty quick, and that’s all we have to say at this point. We will have more later.”

Alongside fellow freshman Harlem Berry, Lindsey formed one of the best running back classes in the nation for the Tigers in 2025.  Now, the four-star recruit in the 2025 class has been suspended from the LSU football team while he awaits any potential court proceedings.

The Tigers landed at No. 9 in the first edition of the USA Today Coaches Poll released just last week.
