Is this flirting or just another example of a man grossly overestimating their skill level compared to a pro’s? In a viral TikTok, Nashville-based musician and retired college golfer Bri Aspen (@briaspen) says, “I met this guy at the bar last night, and he thinks he can beat me in a hole of golf.”

“I got this. Ladies first,” the man, Mitchell, says.

Aspen, who played division one college golf at Belmont University, explains that she’s hitting driver and the hole is a par 4. She takes her first swing and says, “That should do,” seeming satisfied with where the ball landed.

Mitchell takes his swing next, saying, “Boutta pipe this.” But it’s a swing and a miss, as his ball lands in the water. He tries again and ends up taking three swings compared to Aspen’s single one.

They then move on to their next hit. Mitchell grabs a new club and swings, groaning as he sees where his ball lands. “She’s getting in my head,” he says. “It’s all a mind game.” Aspen takes her next swing and lands the ball near the hole.

At this point, Aspen has taken two swings while Mitchell has taken four. “How are you feeling?” Aspen asks before his next swing. “Not good, actually. Not good at all,” Mitchell responds. Aspen gives a “Yeah” before he takes his next swing and lands his ball in the bunker. His sixth shot isn’t pictured, but the seventh lands him close to the hole.

“There you go,” Aspen says. She then takes her third shot, getting the ball frustratingly close to the hole but not in yet. She putts her fourth shot and makes it in. Aspen takes his eighth shot, and the ball rolls right past the hole. “Oh shoot,” he says. He then putts his ninth and makes it in. “Nice,” Aspen says. The two shake hands before the video ends.

‘Men’s Confidence Really Needs To Be Studied’

The comments section had a “girls do it better” vibe. Viewers seemed unsurprised by the outcome of the game and enjoyed seeing a man get humbled.

One wrote, “And this is why I’m starting my girls young. So they can beat the crap out of any loud mouths and not be impressed by a 90.”

“I love watching the confidence leave his eyes,” a second said.

“This would be better if you gave him tips, maybe mansplain it to him?” another joked.

While Aspen didn’t mansplain, at least one commenter offered advice on how Mitchell could improve, while others criticized his form.

“Mitchell let’s try teeing it up with one hand going forward big man,” one said.

“I knew it was gonna be rough when buddy bent down with both hands to tee it up lmao,” a second wrote.

Others said even his clothes were wrong.

“His outfit vs yours told me all I needed to know,” they wrote. Aspen wore a black T-shirt, a white athletic skirt, and white sneakers. Mitchell wore a baseball cap, gray T-shirt, khaki shorts, and New Balance sneakers—not the golf polo and shorts you typically see on a course. They both wore a single FootJoy glove.

One women questioned, “Do guys think this is flirting?” Several commenters suggested yes, they do.

User Brandon Lotsberg said, “If he did it to sneak a date I respect it but otherwise we men need to know our limits. The most masculine thing is to know it’s okay to lose or it’s okay if a woman is better than you at something.”

However, a respondent contended, “Or he could have just asked her on a date? Even a golf date. ‘Maybe you can help me with my swing’ respects her knowledge of the game and is flirty. ‘I can beet you cause I’m a boy’ is gross.”

The Friendly Competition Isn’t The Only Drama Going Down On GolfTok

Previously, a pair of golf influencers went viral for their beef after one called out the other for allegedly faking his scores. The accused denied cheating and was surprised the accusation came from someone he considered a friend. Some viewers speculate that they are still friends and that the callout posts are a publicity stunt.
