Ohio State defensive end Mitchell Melton entered the college football transfer portal prior to the national championship but stayed with the Buckeyes through the conclusion of the season. He officially commitment to continue his career at Virginia on Tuesday.
However, his agency awkwardly used the completely wrong city to announce the decision.
Melton, a former four-star prospect in the college football recruiting class of 2020, moved from outside linebacker to a more hybrid edge rusher position upon arrival to Columbus. He only recorded 15 total tackles and three sacks in four seasons at Ohio State.
The 6-foot-4, 260-pound senior entered the transfer portal with one year of eligibility remaining. Melton committed to play for the Cavaliers just one day after winning a national title with the Buckeyes.
The University of Virginia is located in Charlottesville, in the central portion of the Old Dominion. It is not located in Richmond. Charlottesville has a population of 45,000. Richmond has a population of 230,000.
Mitchell Melton’s commitment graphic got Charlottesville confused with Richmond.
They are two very different cities separated by more than 70 miles.

Just for good measure, this is how Charlottesville looks from above:

Notice the glaring lack of skyscrapers. It is not a particularly vertical city.
Mitchell Milton is represented by A&P Agency, founded by Stefan Aguilera and Jacob Piasecki. They are very good at what they do. This is not to discredit their standing in the business.
With that being said, A&P completely messed up its most recent graphic. It used the skyline of Richmond to announce Milton’s commitment to Virginia. And as we know, UVA is not at all tied to Richmond.
Oops! Maybe this was an intentional design decision because the skyline of Charlottesville does not exist. Maybe it was an accident.
Either way, the graphic is entirely inaccurate. Awkward.
