Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy wasn’t the only NFC East coach to face questions about his future following a difficult postseason exit, as Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni is reportedly on the hot seat, too.

According to reports, Sirianni will be meeting with team owner Jeffrey Lurie this week to “present his plan” for the franchise, which certainly sounds a lot like a sales pitch. Despite the fact that the Eagles have won 34 games and an NFC title during Sirianni’s three seasons, the 42-year-old could find himself on the outs in Philly by the end of the week.

“It is crazy that we’re talking about this with a coach that was literally just in the Super Bowl last year, been in the playoffs every year since he’s been hired, seemed to always win 11 or 12 games. It’s wild but it is Philadelphia and the expectations are, I would say, somewhat bonkers,” Ian Rapoport reported on NFL Network.

“He’s going to meet at some point soon with owner Jeffrey Lurie, he’s going to present his play for how to move forward. I would expect significant changes, obviously there is going to be a change in the search for a defensive [coordinator], potentially a change of offensive coordinator, as well. If Lurie approves and likes his plan, I would imagine Nick Sirianni stays. If he does not, then there is a much different conversation to be had.”

While Sirianni’s job hangs in the balance, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys announced on Wednesday that McCarthy would be returning next season, which will be the final year of his contract.

If the Eagles do decide to fire Lurie, there will obviously be speculation that the team will target former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick as the team likely believes it’s in win-now mode.
