The Russell Wilson era in New York might already be over. Earlier this year, the Giants signed Wilson to a $10.5 million fully guaranteed contract.

Wilson has struggled in his first three games with the Giants, which led to fans booing him and chanting “we want Dart” during the Giants’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

After the game, Giants head coach Brian Daboll sympathized with the angry Giants fans.

“Look, I would be booing, too, to be honest with you, in terms of not being good enough, not scoring, not finishing,” Daboll said. “I understand that. That’s the nature of it. We got to do better.”

Wilson opened up about getting booed by Giants fans.

“I think there’s highs and lows, there’s always tough moments,” Wilson said. “You’ve got to have thick skin, you’ve got to be able to know who you are and the player that you are, know what you’re capable of. I’ve been able to show that throughout my career and obviously last week and everything else too.”

Giants rookie Jaxson Dart has been patient on the sideline awaiting his turn.

“I’m just trying to be a really good teammate,” Dart said. “Any time he’s coming off on the sideline, I like to just kind of listen to know what he has to say, to know what his perspective is on things. To get the coaching points from the coaches and try to do my best to encourage the guys around me. I’ve said this all before. This is all kind of new to me. I’ve tried to just take a different perspective. It’s hard when the offense isn’t playing up to standard.”

It turns out that Dart isn’t going to have to wait because the team announced they have benched Wilson for their upcoming week four game against the Chargers.
