The Temple football team will host Oklahoma in Philadelphia for a Week 3 matchup in the 2025 season. The Sooners believe they will take over Lincoln Financial Field.

A reporter was heard mocking the Owls‘ non-existent fanbase during a weekly press conference ahead of the contest. Those comments are now making the rounds on social media.

Both teams will enter the game a perfect 2-0. The Sooners ripped off a big win over Michigan last weekend. Temple has won its first two games for the first time since 2019.

A feeling of hope now surrounds the matchup. The Owls have momentum after a pair of blowout wins. Will the crowd reflect that sense of excitement? Oklahoma doesn’t believe so.

Temple is not a football school. They’ve struggled to find success of late. The Owls are on their third coach since 2020 after going 13-42 across the last five years.

New head coach KC Keeler is looking to turn the program around. This will be his first major test. A raucous homefield environment would be appreciated.

Lincoln Financial Field holds more than 67,000 fans. The large majority of those seats were empty in Temple’s 55-7 win over Howard.

Attendance was recorded at 15,655.

The turnout wasn’t what you’d hope for in a home opener. Oklahoma isn’t expecting it to be much better this coming Saturday.

A reporter was caught on a press conference hot mic mocking Temple’s lacking fan support. He fully intends to see the Sooners outnumber the Owls in the stands.

Oklahoma travels. They can be expected to sell out their allotment of visiting tickets with Philadelphia being a fun stop that’s not typically on the schedule.

Temple, meanwhile, struggles to put butts in the seats. Can the Owls prove the Sooners wrong by showing up?
