This past season, Hannah Hidalgo and Olivia Miles teamed up to form perhaps the most dynamic duo in all of women’s college basketball for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. But fast forward just a couple of months, and it appears the two are on anything but the same page after Miles entered the transfer portal and decided to finish her college career at TCU. Now, a behind-the-scenes video from a WNBA preseason game shows that tensions might still be running high between the two.

The video, which was filmed at the Dallas Wings vs. Las Vegas Aces preseason game at Notre Dame’s Purcell Pavillion, shows Miles and Hidalgo having an animated discussion with one another while standing in a concourse. The interaction, which was posted on X by user @KateMartinLov3r, starts friendly enough. Miles and Hidalgo dap one another up and seem to be cordial, but it quickly takes a turn.

While you can’t hear what the two stars say, the body language makes it clear that they’re not on the same page. Miles and Hidalgo both begin pointing fingers, and their faces grow more and more frustrated. Ultimately, a security guard steps in and ushers the two out of the concourse where, presumably, the conversation continued.

Hidalgo spoke out about Miles’ high-profile transfer in a recent interview with Sportskeeda. She wished Miles the best in the interview. But the undertones didn’t suggest a clear break.

“You know it was her decision. If that’s what she thought the best decision for her was, then that’s what is best for her. I don’t know what’s best for her,” Hidalgo said. “Only she knows what’s best for her. So whatever she has going on, I wish her all the best. But I’m really focused on what me and my teammates have going on right now.”

Days prior, Miles took to Instagram live to shoot down rumors of a beef between the two.

“We are perfectly fine, y’all. There is no beef, there is literally no beef. Y’all are creating it out of thin air,”she said.

Maybe she’s telling the truth. It’s entirely possible this whole interaction is being blown out of proportion. But the video certainly doesn’t look like two people who are on the same page as one another.
